Seizures generated in anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) are associated with changes in autonomic function, motivation and thought. The onset and propagation of seizures in ACC was difficult to determine and needs further elucidation and the role of thalamic activities on ACC seizure has not been thoroughly studied. The present study was conducted to investigate the spatiotemporal changes in epileptiform activity in this cortex and involvement of thalamic inputs in modulating seizures in a medial thalamic-ACC slice preparation of mice.
