Objective: To explore the inhibitory effects of quercetin on Cox-2 and 5-Lox in autoimmune prostatitis rat model as well as the efficacy on the ion concentration in the urine.Methods: We established two CAP rat models by estrogen induction and prostatic protein purification with FreundS completed adjuvant.The expression of COX-2 and 5-LOX were evaluated by Western blot and Immunohistochemistry.We investigate diuresis effect by water-loaded rat test and measuring the ion concentration in the urine.Results: In estrogen -induced chronic abacterial prostatitis rats treated by quercetin (200mg.kg-1) ,the density of lecithin corpuscle increased and prostate index decrease in prostatic secretion,the edema,inflammatory infiltration of prostate were partly recovered compared with model group, the proliferation of chronic prostatitis were obviously decreased in quercetin groups compared with model group in histological sections.quercetin could obviously reduce prostate COX-2 and 5-LOX expression; quercetin could increase the concentration of Na+ and C1-in the urine ; quercrtin could significantly raise urinary amount in 0-4h, as compared with water-loaded model group.Conclusion: quercrtin had good therapeutic effects on chronic abacterial prostatitis, which may be related to its inhibition effect on prostate COX-2 and 5-LOX expression and Promoting discharge of Na+ and Cl-.
