　　Composite materials exhibit a unique combination of a variety of mechanical properties.By engineering these properties,composite materials can be utilized in several applications including energy,sports etc.An overview of the utility of composite materials in energy and sports related industry is presented.Case studies of the transition of fundamental research in composite materials to manufacturing of energy and sports related products are described.
