Analysis and Thinking on the Medical Expertise of 5462 Disabled Children in the Three Gorges Reservo

　　Objective: To explore the types of hereditary and non-hereditary diseases and the regional distribution of disabled children in Three Gorges reservoir of Chongqing.And to provide scientific basis for preconceptional eugenics, genetic counseling and reducing the recurrence ring of birth defects.Methods: 5462 samples were collected from the platform of Chongqing medical expertise in Three Gorges reservoir.Then the types of hereditary and non-hereditary diseases, the cause of diseases, the regional distribution and the syn-position were analyzed.Results: 3558 cases (65.14%) were non hereditary diseases (221 types), and 1879 cases (34.40%) were hereditary diseases (67 types).In addition, 25 cases were for reasons unknown.Conclusions: The hereditary and non-hereditary diseases are composed of kinds of diseases and the causes are complex with a wide distribution.The preconceptional eugenics and genetic counseling service should be carried out actively.
