Shizothoracine fishes are the only group with the family Cyprinidae adapted to the severe environment of the Qinghai-Tibetan,constitute a major component of the plateau fish fauna.The origin and evolution of Schizothoracinae fishes were related to the uplifting of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau,besides,they also plays a critical role in maintaining the balance of most lake and river ecosystems in Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.However there is virtually no information on the earlylife history of Schizothoracinae fishes.
