The aim of this research is to figure out the characteristics of the geographical cognition of Korean students in Tianjin,China.The target of this research was the first and third grades of middle school,and the second grade of high school students.The time period of the research was the first week of July 2015.The methods of questioning and group interviewing were employed simultaneously.The substance of the question investigation consisted of the name of students' current residential area,years of living in Tianjin,spatial circulations of daily and weekend life,place of consumption and leisure(spare time),images of Tianjin,and an imagery map of Tianjin.The results were as follows: First,the major pattern of moving showed home-school-academy-home in subjects' daily lives.Second,the pattern of moving indicated mostly home-academy-home on the weekend.Third,places of consumption were mostly Korean town supermarkets,Korean department stores and Japanese large supermarkets.Fourth,the place of leisure was generally near their residential area and inner of Tianjin.Fifth,under the influence of the school policy regarding international exchange,even though students of the first-grade middle school have Chinese friends,that did not work to expand their geographical cognition.Sixth,as for the image of Tianjin,most students were reminded Tian Tower and Korean towns; seventh,through the imagery map,we could find that the geographical cognitions were similar in all of the surveyed grades.In conclusion,as the daily-life moving area of the Korean students living in Tianjin appeared in limited places,their geographical cognitions also emerged as limited.
