Uniformly dispersed Ag nanoparticles(NPs)were successfully decorated into boththe outer and inner surface of the TiO2 nanotube arrays(NTs)through a simple polyolmethod. The as-prepared Ag/TiO2 NTs were characterized by scanning electronmicroscopy, transmission electron microscope,X-ray diffraction,X-ray photoelectronspectroscopy, and ultraviolet-visilbe light absorption spectra techniques.Photoelectrochemical behaviors were investigated via photocurrent response andelectrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS).Photocatalytic activity activities ofAg/TiO2 NTs were evaluated by degradation of AO-Ⅱ under visible light irradiation. The results showed that Ag/TiO2 NTs electrode exhibited a greater separationefficiency of photogenerated electron–hole pairs and a faster charge transfer than thepure TiO2 NTs film at the solid–liquid interface.Furthermore, photocatalyticefficiency of Ag/TiO2 NTs is more than 8 times than pure TiO2 NTs.Comparing withthe electrochemical deposition method in our previous work, the photocatalyticactivity of Ag/TiO2 NTs with polyol method had been obviously increased. The newphotocatalyst would be a promising material for solar energy conversion and organicpollutant degradation.
