Yunnanobryon rhyacophilum,a theophytic moss from Yunnan and Guizhou Province that was published as a new genus and monospecific species in 2011.This genus was proposed to be placed in Regmatodontaceae based on similar axillary hairs, though with distinct leaf habits, but its systematic position was supported by a later phylogenetic study. This Yunnanobryon species, however, was sterile when it was described. We fortunately collected its sporophytes in southern Guizhou.China in December 2014.The characters of its sporophytes are pretty unique, including absent peristome and aborted spores, which are differ from the delimitation of family Regmatodontaceae.Therefore.we suggest some minor modifications on the concept of Regmatodontaceae about sporophytic character states.
