Tuberculosis is the most common and the earliest opportunistic infection in patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS),with more frequent occurrence of extrapulmonary tuberculosis. The opportunistic infection caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis commonly involves the whole body in patients with AIDS.To our knowledge, positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) findings of the disseminated tuberculosis has been rarely reported both domestically and internationally. We herein report and analyze the 18F-FDG PET/CT findings in 1 case of AIDS complicated by disseminated tuberculosis. The clinical value of 18 F-FDG PET/CT in the diagnosis of complex infections, such as AIDS complicated by disseminated tuberculosis is discussed.
