In 2000,we reported the formation of meso-β doubly linked Ni(Ⅱ)porphyrin dimers by oxidation of 5,10,15-triaryl Ni(Ⅱ)porphyrins.1 Since then,we have developed various fused porphyrinoids such as meso-meso,β-β,β-β triply linked Cu(Ⅱ)porphyrin oligomers,2 Zn(Ⅱ)porphyrin tapes,3 a tetrameric porphyrin sheet,4 azulene-fused porphyrins,5 and porphyrin-fused hexaphyrins.6 In this presentation,our recent results on the synthesis of fused porphyrinoids are discussed.
