Using (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 powders with an average grain size of about 30 nm as raw materials, (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 ceramics were obtained by conventional sintering method at different sintering temperatures between 750℃ and 950℃.The research on abnormal grain growth in the sintering of the nano powders was investigated. The results demonstrated that, abnormal grain growth can be observed clearly when the sintering temperature is higher than 850℃.When sintering temperature reachs 950℃, the abnormal grain growth regions have maximum of about 1 mm× 1 mm and exhibit (111) tropism. The inhomogeneous distribution of liquid phase in the sintering of nano powders is the main cause of abnormal grain growth.
