Water deficit is one of the main limiting factors for apple distribution and production.Roots of apple rootstocks play a key role in drought tolerance.To investigate the molecular mechanisms of water uptake in apple rootstocks under drought stress, we first evaluated drought response of roots in four widely used apple rootstocks (G41,G935, Malus prunifolia and Malus sieversii).
