Brassinosteroids (BRs) are a novel group of plant steroid hormones that not only regulate plant growth and development but also are implicated in plant responses to stresses.However,the role of BR in defending plants against insect herbivores remains largely unclear.Some members of the whitefly Bemisia tabaci species complex,such as the B and Q whiteflies,have developed into serious agricultural pests worldwide in recent years.Here,we investigated the BR influence on performance of the B whitefly on Arabidopsis and tomato.
