In Australia, there is an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act in place in each State.OHS introduces requirements and obligations in a number of different capacities to everyone who is working.As Chinese medicine professionals, we are used to thinking about duty of care to our patients and to the public who may be in the vicinity of our practice.But there is also a need for us, in particular, most of us are sole practitioner to work in a safe and healthy environment and so it is in relation to the duty of care which should be extended to us.Safe practice is not only referring to the services we provide are effective and no harmful, but also having the meaning of health, safety and welfare to health professionals who are at work.If our workplace is making us sick or injured, our ability to practice as health professionals is at risk.
