  Neural cell adhesion molecule(NCAM)deficiency induces the expression of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),thereby leading to insulin resistance and impaired adipogenesis of mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs).However,the regulation mechanism of TNF-α by NCAM in MSCs remains elusive.Here,we investigated the relationship between NCAM,TNF-α,and stress signaling pathways,including AMPK,p38,and JNK.In NCAM-deficient MSCs,AMPK and p38 signaling pathways were persistently activated,accompanied by elevated levels of reactive oxygen species(ROS).
