In order to improve the spatial distribution of spray and enhance the mixture formation quality for the diesel engines,a partition combustion system with double ω-type combustion chamber was proposed.Since the incylinder squish is very intense near 20°CA BTDC in the diesel engine,the double ω-type combustion chamber is divided into an upper and a lower circular region to enhance flow disturbance by setting the ridge on the combustion chamber wall.In order to better match the geometry structure of the new combustion chamber,a nozzle of double-layer hole is designed,and the position of double-layer hole is in the circular of two concentric circles.The axis intersection distance between upper and lower layer nozzle holes is 1 mm,which can effectively avoid the interference of spray.The nozzle of double-layer hole has more flexible characteristics and better spray distribution in the axial direction by changing the number and diameter.The spray from nozzle holes are respectively injected into the corresponding area in the double ω-type combustion chamber,so as to enhance the utilization rate of the air and accelerate mixture of fuel and air.The basic performance experiment is carried out in ZS1100ZM diesel engine.The results show: with decreasing the diameter of the throat mouth in the partition combustion system,there is a lower fuel consumption rate and Soot emission.Compared to the original engine,for the 65-type combustion chamber,NOx emission remains unchanged and fuel consumption reduces by 2.2%under the rated condition.The nozzle protrusion height is of great influence on the partition combustion system,and appropriate short protrusion height makes the better performance.Double ω-type combustion chamber matched with a nozzle of double-layer hole at the small and medium loads shows the better fuel consumption rate,and the proper increment on number of the upper nozzle hole can reduce Soot emission.
