Manipulating the growth rate of different crystal planes [1] of monometal nanocrystals is a key to the fabrication of curved faces rather than flat surfaces.The control of curved structure of bimetals nanocrystals,especially,is a big challenge,due to the rate differential for atom deposition and surface diffusion of alien atomic species on specific crystallographic planes of seeds.Here,we successfully synthesized [2] bimetallic PtxCoy nanocrystals with curved faces with controlled bending degree,such as terminal carboxylic acids with bridge ring or benzene ring as structure regulators can direct the formation of curved faces exposed high-index facets,while long-chain terminal acids alone facilitate the production of curved faces exposed low-index facets.
