In the practical cases, such as the DNA and undersea cables subject to viscous effect.Sometimes, the viscous forces cannot be omitted.In this paper, basing on the Kirchhoff model of elastic rod, we investigate the dynamical stability and instability of elastic loop.The instability states that an elastic ring does not writhe until the amount of twist exceeds a rod-dependent threshold.
