Shearlets filter is one of the new filter techniques developed in recent years.Its an improved version of curvelets and essentially a new type of wavelets.Shearlets could detect the edge singularities by detecting the function values in local trapezoid regions in the Fourier space.The trapezoid regions are moving according to the shearlets parameters and would cover the whole Fourier space of your image.It could be realized by a specific formula and have the superiority of muti-dimensions and muti-directions.Shearlets filters have been widely used in image processing such as edge detection,image segmentation,et al.
