Ebstern-Bar virus is a widespread human γ herpesvirus,which is associated with multiple cancers.The consistent latent presence of EBV in tumor cells offers the potential for the virus-targeted therapies.Switching the latent form of EBV in tumor cells into the lytic form can lead to tumor cells lysis.Many chemotherapeutic agents can reactivate EBV into cytolytic cycle,and recent studies have shown that cytolytic virus activation (CLVA)therapy is effective in patients with EBV positive tumors.
