With the measured values of the water level and channel characteristics of the Yangtze River in Chongqing in flood season, one-dimensional hydraulic model was used to demarcate the roughness of the channel and to analyze the relationships between the roughness and the water level, sediment transport rate, sediment particle size.The results show the modulated water level and the measured water level are in good fitness; the roughness and the water level are in liner relationship, the roughness decreases with the decrease of the water level; the roughness and the sediment transport rate are in logarithmic relationship with higher fitness, in certain ranges, the higher the sediment transport rate, the less the roughness; the sediment particle size and the roughness are in worse fitness, it is illuminated that the sediment particle size is not the main influencing factor on the roughness in Yangtze River in Chongqing.The relationships between the roughness and the water level, sediment transport rate, sediment particle size contribute certain application value for the flood forecasting and precise water quality simulation.
