Relevant researches reported polymorphisms in gamma-amino butyric acid B receptor (GABABR1),insulin receptor substrate (IRS)-1,hypocretin neuropeptide precursor (HCRT) gene may susceptible candidate for obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS).However,no study certified whether the association resided in Chinese peoples. Therefore,we conducted the research to confirm it.130 OSAHS patients and 136 healthy controls with matched age and gender were recruited for single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of GABABR1 (rs29230),insulin IRS-1 (rs1801278) and HCRT (rs9902709).Association of these SNPs with OSAHS risk was estimated by computing the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) from multivariate unconditional logistic regression analyses with adjustment for gender and age.The results showed frequencies of genotype and allele of rs29230 were significantly differences between the cases and controls (P=0.0205 and P=0.0191,OR=0.493,CI 95%=0.271-0.896),especial for male or overweight patients (P=0.0259 and P=0.0202,OR=0.467,CI 95%=0.243-0.895).Whats more,by subgroup analysis, the study confirmed that allele in rs29230 was significant difference between OSAHS and controls in over weight subgroup.Similarity, allele and genotype frequencies of rs1801278 between cases and controls were remarkable differences (P=0.0488 and P=0.0471).However,no difference was observed between cases and controls in rs9902709 and other subgroups (P>0.05).In conclusion, the present study demonstrated that variants of rs29230 and rs1801278 were susceptible gene for developing of OSAHS,but rs9902709 not.
