  Recently,the feasibility of detecting crack in metal by radio frequency identification(RFID)tag antenna-based sensor(TABS)is widely studied in open literatures; however,little concern is paid on the crack determination.This paper presents a possibility study for the characterization of crack in metal using RFID TABS.The major purpose of our work is to bridge the gap between structural health monitoring(SHM)and nondestructive testing & evaluation(NDT&E),aiming to promote the widespread adoption of RFID technology in ultra high frequency(UHF)band.
