One of the main characteristics of the twentieth century is enormous economic development.That is why it becomes a critical point, where the fate of mankind began to depend on interaction between nature and civilization.From the theory of the noosphere important principle should be formulated: the need of harmonious co-development of human civilization and the biosphere, the formation of ecological civilization.At the UN Conference in Rio de Janeiro (2012) stressed the need for a new paradigm of human development.This paradigm should be based on the transition to sustainable development, "green" economy.Russia has recognized the need for radical change in approaches to incorporating environmental considerations into economic and social development.Country has enormous resources for the transition to ecological civilization: human, material, technological, and natural.Nature is an essential part of the countrys wealth.tn Russia the concepts of ecological civilization, environmentally sustainable development are not often used in official documents.Nevertheless, the country goals for the next 10-20 years largely correspond to the objectives of the transition to more i°ecologicali± society.This is reflected in the general policy of resource utilization and environmental protection for the future, the existing legal and fiscal instruments.The huge natural resource potential of Russia is of global significance.The land of the country contains a significant share of the world reserves and almost all kinds of minerals, fuel and energy.Russia is the world leader in oil and gas, which allows us to consider the country as the world energy donor.Huge reserves of fresh water, forests, virgin ecosystems, and great biodiversity make up a significant part of the natural capital of Russia and have an impact on global ecosystem services, maintaining the stability of the biosphere.Success of the implementation of ecological civilization idea, sustainable development depend on the active position and the personal interest of everyone.This defines the need of educational and outreach activities, consistent mass media work, public advertising.It is also necessary to immediately provide ecological knowledge ‥C starting with a compulsory topic in secondary school and teaching the basic concepts of sustainable development in higher education to the general environmental education activities with obligatory coverage in the mass media, including provision of mandatory limits for social advertising.A key role in turning society towards sustainable development and the formation of broad public interest is culture, as well as cultural and natural heritage objects.
