　　This paper is concerned with the synchronization problem of chaotic systems.A novel proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller is developed via the evolutionary programming algorithm (EPA).By using EPA,optimal gains in PID controller are derived such that a performance index of integrated absolute error (IAE) is minimized.
