It has been proven that new drug delivery function can be provided to particulate drug carrier systems by reducing their size smaller than a critical size, eg.100-500 nm, such as adhesion to mucous layer, penetration into biological membrane, enhancing endocytosis and etc.of resultant nano drug delivery system.Such functions are very often diminished after formulating them into dosage forms, due to coalescence of nanoparticulate carriers occurred during processing.
