The main purpose of this paper is to examine the general map reading abilities of 15 year-old junior high school leavers to find out their weaker aspects of graphicacy,and to investigate the influences on adolescents graphicacy.
The notion of graphicacy is briefly introduced. And，a literature review wasundertaken with attention paid to previous studies involving individuals spatialdevelopment and issues of map reading.
