Tropical variability,such as El Ni(n)o and the Indian Ocean dipole induce floods,droughts,wildfires and other severe weather events in many parts of the world.Their response to climate change has challenged scientists worldwide for the past two to three decades.In this talk I will provide an update of the recent advances,continuing from the presentation I gave last year at this campus.
