Cytokinins (CKs) are a group of plant hormones which play crucial roles at low concentration in plant growth, development and regulatory pathways.However, up to date, research on the function, metabolism, and signal transduction of CKs is hampered by the lack of sensitive analytical techniques.In order to solve this problem, a simple, rapid and sensitive method for the determination of endogenous CKs was developed in current study by employing continuous two-step solid phase extraction and online trapping technique coupled with hydrophilic interaction chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry (continuous SPE-online trapping-HILIC-MS/MS).In the continuous two-step SPE, the eluent of the first SPE can be directly sampled on the second one, which largely simplified the processes of SPE.
