Magnetic resonance imaging is a useful adjunct to ultrasound in the work-up of fetal face, neck and spine pathology.It is a safe and effective imaging modality for which there have been no proven harmful effects to the developing human fetus.Common indications for fetal mr imaging of the face and neck include lymphatic malformation, teratoma, facial clefts, and goiter among others.Indications for fetal spine include spinal dysraphic masses i.e., myelomeningocele, lipo myelomeningocele, and masses like sacrococcygeal teratoma.
