As one of the oldest and most complicated heterogeneous catalytic reaction,the basic understand regarding the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis(FTS) over iron and cobalt catalysts,such as the active phase(metal versus carbide) and corresponding reaction mechanism,remain unclear and even in debates.
