The repair processing of out-of-autoclave is becoming an important way of repairing composite structures.In order to study the non-autoclave repair processing and to improve the repair quality,even introduce it into the repairing for laminate structures,the autoclave material (977-2) and Out-of-Autoclave (OOA) material (MTM44-1) were researched as the repair material cured with autoclave and heat blanket separately.After the repair processing investigated,the mechanical properties of the specimen after repaired were tested for compression and tension,and compared with the undamaged specimen.The internal quality was checked by ultrasonic and optical microscopy.The results show that the porosity of the repair with OOA material is more than the one with autoclave material,but the mechanical property of the repair with OOA material is close to the one with autoclave material,and the compression and tension recovery after repaired is more than 80% for all specimen,especially the advantage of OOA repair is no limitation of the facility and environment with low cost and high efficiency.Therefore the OOA repair can be used on the secondary structure and potentially on the primary structure.The appropriate repair process can be selected according to the engineering requirements and processing limitation.The importance of this research is that the non-autoclave repair process is studied and optimized,and the experiment data is cumulated,which can be taken as the reference for the OOA material used as the alternative repair material.
