In recent years,the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) of noble metal nanoparticles (NPs has been employed by chemists to improve the photocatalytic efficiencies.Surface plasmon decay generates large numbers of “hot” electrons with kinetic energies above the metal’s Fermi level that can tunnel to the unoccupied resonant energy levels of molecules absorbed on metal surface [1,2].
