Based on the Semi-Analytical Method(SAM),a numerical model for simulating torsional fretting wear of rough surface was developed in this paper.According to the basic solutions of contact mechanics,MATLAB code was written to solve the contact problems.Meanwhile the Discrete Convolution-Fast Fourier Transform(DC-FFT)and the Conjugate Gradient Method(CGM)were employed to improve calculation speed.Based on the Archards equation, the surface profiles were updated with the increasing of fretting cycles.Three cases of rough surfaces were generated according to the Auto-Correlation Function(ACF)as well as the general statistical distribution. Then the contact behavior of the arbitrarily oriented non-Gaussian rough surface was discussed using this numerical model. Finally the evolution of surface profile with the increasing of fretting cycles was presented.
