Understanding spatial patterns of floristic diversity is critical for conservation planning,particularly given rapid habitat loss and global climatic change.Floristic studies typically use taxa(e.g.,families,genera,and species)or more recently phylogenetic diversity as their analysis unit and produce a single map of observed diversity.
