Insomnia is a common problem for people with neuropathic pain.Therapies that not only reduce pain, but also improve sleep can provide multiple benefits without the risk of increased side effects for sleep disturbances with neuropathic pain.However, ideal drugs effective in both neuropathic pain and sleep restoration are deficient in clinical.Herein, we firstly investigated the changes of sleep parameters in mice with partial sciatic nerve ligation (PSL), an animal model of neuropathic pain.Furthermore, Neu-P11, a novel melatonin receptor agonist, was used to investigate the antinociceptive and the hypnotic effect in PSL mice.
