Even though molecular imprinting has been utilized for more than 30 years,protein imprinting has remained elusive,especially application in real samples such as biological fluids.Water incompatibility and large size are the primary concerns in protein imprinting.This severely hampers applications in aqueous media and poses problem in real analysis.In the approach of non-covalent imprinting,aqueous solvents suppress the weak non-covalent forces to be optimized to fit into their respective specific cavities.
