Since breast-conserving surgery first demonstrated long-term survival identical to mastectomy in seven randomized trails, it has become the preferred treatment option. It provides treatment as effective as mastectomy, with the added merit of preserving the breast. However, it is occasionally difficult to achieve good cosmetic results, particularly for patients with large or poorly situated tumors.Oneoplastie surgery, a novel approach applying volume displacement or replacement techniques in a breast-conserving procedure, effectively fills breast defects and absorbs volume loss, thereby reducing risks of deformity and enhancing the cosmetic result. The application of volume displacement technique usually requires large breast size, allowing mobilization of the breast plate around the excision cavity, our experience in the application of this technique in small and medium breast sized women will be shared. The cosmetic outcome and patient satisfaction, especially in relation to the percentage of breast tissue excised, will be presented and discussed.
