The bifurcations and chaotic oscillations of a honeycomb sandwich plate with hexagonal honeycomb core are investigated in this paper.First, the governing equations of motion are established for the honeycomb sandwich plate subjected to the in-plane and transversal excitations by using the Hamiltons principle.Then, based on the Galerkin discretization, the governing equations of motion are simplified to a set of ordinary differential equations with five-degree-of-freedom.At last, the dynamical behaviors of the honeycomb sandwich plate under combined the in-plane and transversal excitations are investigated based on numerical simulation of the ordinary differential equations.
