We consider the effects of plasmonic coupling on the two-photon absorption of complex plasmonic systems composed of coupled gold nanoparticles.By utilizing two representative examples,we reveal that the strongly localized modes induced by plasmonic coupling play a crucial role in determining the two-photon absorption of the plasmonic systems. For a gold nanodisk hexamer,we show by numerical simulation that the near field distribution of hotspots can be tailored by changing the excitation polarizations.
