  Measuring the shape and position tolerance of parts by using three coordinate measuring machine, CMM has been wide- ly used in machinery, automobile, aerospace, military and other modern industries. How to make better use of modern measurement technology and give full play to the role of measurement technology in product trial production and quality control, which has been a dif- ficult problem for engineers and technicians. In this article, the author summarizes the application and practice of the three coordinate measurement technology in the field of BIW. We also introduced the current more advanced measurement technology and put forward some personal opinions and views.
