In photosystem Ⅱ water is oxidized to molecular oxygen at the oxygen evolving complex(OEC) driven by sunlight,and the released protons are reduced to hydrogen via hydrogenases.To mimic these functions of light driven water splitting,great efforts have been made to create artificial photosynthetic systems.
