Dye-sensitized solar cells consists of a TiO2 nanostructured film of the photo-electrode,dye molecules on the surface of the TiO2 film,an electrolyte layer and a counter electrode.Among these,the mesoporous TiO2 film plays an important role as the photo electrode in DSSCs (Fig.1) because it adsorbs a large number of the dye molecules.We prepared the photo-electrode using a commercial Dyesol paste deposited on F-doped SnO2 (FTO) glass substrates by doctor blade method with different thickness.The adsorption kinetic data of N719 and MK-2 (Fig.2) dyes on the different TiO2 films were measured using UV spectrophotometry [1].Two simplified kinetic models including a pseudo first-order and pseudo second-order equations were employed to fit the experiment data [2].As expected,the conversion efficiency (geometrical area of 0.25 cm2) of DSSC with different TiO2 film thickness was highly dependent on the adsorption equilibrium and kinetics of dyes.
