Maize rough dwarf disease, is a serious viral disease transmitted by small brown planthoppers (SBPH) (Laodelphax striatellus).In recent years, the disease outbreak and is very prevalent in maize growing areas in the northwest Zhejiang because of many complexed factors, including changes in farming and cultivation system, the accumulation of virus sources and insects, decreased disease resistance of varieties, and climatic conditions and some other factors.
