Nogo-B receptor (NgBR) was identified as a specific receptor for binding Nogo-B.The previous works have demonstrated that NgBR is essential for chemotaxis and morphogenesis of endothelial cells in vitro and blood vessel formation in zebrafish.NgBR also plays an important role to stabilize NPC2 and NPC2 dependent cholesterol trafficking under serum-free condition. In this study, we investigated the novel roles of NgBR in regulating hepatic lipogenesisviaa NPC2-independnet pathway. To elucidate the pathophysiological role of NgBR in mammalians, we generated NgBR conditional gene targeting mice and investigated the role of NgBR in hepatic lipid homeostasis.
