A pseudoaneurysm of the ascending aorta is an unusual and potentially fatal complication after aortic surgical procedures.The development ofpseudoaneurysms after aortic valve replacement is attributed to suturing technique and infection.Early diagnosis and intervention is the key point for good outcome.A contrast helical computed tomographic scan is the investigation of choice, with better accuracy than that of transthoracic echocardiography.It allows a comprehensive evaluation of pseudoaneurysm in terms of morphologic features and extent, presence of thrombus, relationship to adjacent structures and branches, and signs of impending or acute rupture.We report, high resolution helical CT scan may provide the best less invasivemeans in the diagnosis of the pseudoaneurysm of the ascending aorta originated from the aortic vent site.
