The Monitor Model The monitor model/input hypothesis is a group of five hypotheses of second-language acquisition developed by the linguist Stephen Krashen in the 1970s and 1980s.1.Language Acquisition and Language Learning Acquisition is the unconscious absorption of language,when real language is used for real communication.Learning takes place when consciously studying the rules of a language.
