Because of nano-effect,Cu Nano-particles as lubricating material have good tribological properties and repairing properties in lubricating medium.It not only could reduce friction and wear of friction surface,but also could realize the repairing friction surface of engine,gear,crankshaft,etc.In the article,the nano-effect of Cu nano-particles as lubricating material was researched on reducing friction effect,antiwear effect and repairing effect by comparing tribological properties of Cu nano-particles with Cu micro-particles in lubricating medium.The nano-effect mechanism of Cu nano-particles was discussed.The results indicated that the reducing friction effect and the anti-wear effect can make the friction coefficient and the worn track width of lubricating medium reduce to 16% and 40% respectively.The repairing effect can make the Cu nano-particles forms repairing film on wore surface.The effects are decided by the characteristics of nano-Cu lubricating material.The small-scale characteristic,surface-interface characteristic and quantum characteristic of Cu nano-particles,which make Cu nano-particles as lubricating materiai present many peculiar nano-effect in tribological field,such as the reduction of friction coefficient and worn track width.The reasons are that the surface atomicity and the surface energy increase quickly with the particle size reducing ofCu nano-particles.The high surface energy Cu nano-particles have high activity.When the high activity Cu nano-particles reach the worn surface,they with the worn surface create mass exchange and energy exchange,and form a kind of soft repairing film.The repairing film prevents the direct contact of tiny convex body of worn surface,reduces the sticking-wear and grain-wear.As the result,the Cu nano-particles as lubricating material put up excellent tribological effect and repairing effect.
