Hot spring tourism is in accord with new demand of modern tourists,it is very popular in south China especially in Guangdong Province,this fashionable leisure tourism has spread all over the China and begin to take shape in backward area—Gansu Province.The author adopt method of empirical study and case study,analysis condition about development of hot spring tourism in Gansu Province.It point out the existing problems such as (1)hot spring tourism development is in low level,lacking of multiple function; (2)left out market segment,has a poor marketing level; (3)has a bad quality of service in hot spring sightseeing district; (4)has little protection awareness of hot spring.The author put forward some suggestions in terms of development strategy of resource,hoping to help to future development of hot spring tourism.(1) In the process of tourism development,exploit culture connotation of hot spring,strengthen supporting facilities of hot spring tourism,integrate with surrounding tourist resources,thus form overall development of dominant function,supporting function and miscellaneous function; (2)dedicate to market segment and market through many channels; (3)strengthen personnel training and improve soft-quality of spa; (4)pay equal attention to protection and exploitation of resources,lead to a sustainable development.
