Introduction:The relationship between uric acid and microalbuminuria has been observed in hypertensive and prehypertensive population. The pathophysiological relation between these two markers remains elusive in people without other comorbidities.Hyperuricemia in gout can induce inflammation by triggering the production of inflammatory cytokines and also, microalbuminuria reflects a local endothelial dysfunction. It is shown that metabolic syndrome are related to hyperuricemia as well as microalbuminuria. The aim of the study is to evaluate the association between uric acid levels and presence of microalbuminuria in gout patient.
